This website (the “InsureBC Website” or the “Website”) provides general information about InsureBC and its products and services. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and any other supplemental terms and policies that we may publish from time to time (collectively, the “Agreement”). If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions in their entirety, you are not authorized to use the Website.

InsureBC and its subsidiaries and affiliates (including Insureityourself Insurance Services Ltd. [“Insureityourself”]) may monitor and record incoming and outgoing phone calls for record-keeping, training, and quality-assurance purposes. If you do not wish to have your call recorded, please inform us and we will provide an alternative communication method. Recorded calls are stored securely and will only be used for the purpose disclosed. We may share recorded calls with third parties (e.g., to meet our obligations, assess eligibility, or adjust claims), and those third parties must comply with applicable privacy laws.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold InsureBC, Insureityourself, and their subsidiaries and affiliates (including their members, officers, directors, employees, agents, or partners) harmless from and against any and all claims, expenses (including reasonable legal fees), damages, suits, costs, demands, or judgments arising out of or related to:
- (a) your use of the Website;
- (b) your breach of these Terms;
- (c) any dispute between you and third-party providers; and/or
- (d) your violation of any rights of InsureBC, Insureityourself, or any other subsidiaries or affiliates.
Each relevant entity shall have the right to assert and enforce these provisions directly against you on its own behalf.
9. Ownership and Intellectual Property
All content on the Website, including text, illustrations, graphics, insurance policies, images, and trademarks (collectively, the “Content”), is the property of InsureBC, Insureityourself, or their content providers, and is protected by Canadian law and other applicable intellectual property laws. Your use of the Website does not transfer any ownership or other rights in the Website or the Content to you. Any unauthorized use, copying, or reproduction of the Content is strictly prohibited and may violate provincial or federal law.
10. Co-Branded Areas
Certain functions on the Website may be operated or provided by third-party providers (“Co-Branded Areas”). These Co-Branded Areas may display InsureBC or Insureityourself logos but are nonetheless managed by third parties. Your access to Co-Branded Areas is subject to these Terms and any additional terms and conditions posted therein.

InsureBC and Insureityourself have no control over such third-party websites, and you acknowledge that InsureBC and its affiliates are not responsible for the availability, content, products, services, or policies of such external websites. Use of any third-party websites is at your own risk.
12. Compliance
InsureBC is licensed to provide insurance products and services online in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, through its digital subsidiary, Insureityourself. Insurance products offered through the Website may not be available in all provinces or outside Canada. If you access this Website from other jurisdictions, you do so for general informational purposes only and acknowledge that products and services may not be authorized or available where you reside.
13. Insurance Quotes & Coverages
All insurance quotes generated on this Website are based on the information you provide, and potentially third-party information we obtain. Quotes do not constitute a contract or binder of coverage. If you agree to the terms during the purchase process and make the required payment, your insurance policy will be effective as of the date you specify, subject to underwriting review and approval. Coverage descriptions on the Website are general in nature. If you are unsure about any coverage details, please speak with a licensed insurance broker or visit a physical InsureBC location before making a purchase online.
14. Claims Submissions
If you file a claim under your policy, the information you submit is subject to review and verification. We may request additional details before submitting your claim to the insurer, and a claim representative may contact you. Your claim is subject to the provisions of your insurance policy.
15. Agreement to Conduct Electronic Transactions
By conducting transactions with us electronically via the Website, email, or phone, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the Agreement to Conduct Electronic Transactions, which is available on www.insurebc.ca. This agreement sets forth your consent to receive certain disclosures and documentation electronically.
16. Limitation of Liability
16.1 You expressly understand and agree that InsureBC, Insureityourself, and their subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “InsureBC Parties”) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to:
- (a) your use or inability to use the Website or any services or products obtained through the Website;
- (b) the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services;
- (c) unauthorized access to or alteration of your data;
- (d) any other matter relating to the Website or services.
16.2 If applicable law does not permit the limitation of liability set forth in these Terms, the maximum liability of the InsureBC Parties under any circumstance shall be limited to three hundred dollars (USD $300).
These limitations of liability are fundamental elements of the Agreement between you and us, and the Website (including services and products offered) would not be provided without such limitations.
17. Insurance Carriers – How We Get Paid
All insurance products sold by InsureBC through Insureityourself are underwritten by various licensed Canadian insurance carriers. Insureityourself is remunerated either by a policy fee and/or a commission for each policy sold and renewed. Commissions and policy fees range from 8% to 40%, depending on our contractual arrangements with each insurance carrier and/or the type of policy sold.
18. General Provisions
18.1 Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Canada and the province of British Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia, Canada.
18.2 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
18.3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be replaced or reformed to accomplish its original intent to the greatest extent possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
